We hereby recommend the Wine Routes heading to our cellars that are situated amongst the middle-age castles of Monferrato, the most impressive ones in Piedmont, where we produce not only Dolcetto d’Ovada and Ovada D.O.C.G., but many other wines. Our cellars may be easily reached from Alessandria, Novi Ligure and from the spa of Acqui Terme. It takes only 60 minutes to reach us by car from Turin and Milan and only 40 minutes if you arrive from Genoa.
How To Reach Us …
Take the highway A7 Milan-Genoa, towards Genoa. Past the exit of Tortona, continue towards Genoa, take the junction A7- A26 towards Genoa Voltri and exit in Ovada; from there, follow the directions under the section “From Ovada”.
Take the highway A26 Genoa-Santhià, towards Santhià. Exit in Ovada, from there, follow the directions under the section “From Ovada”.
Take the highway A21 towards Piacenza. At the exit of Alessandria Ovest (western exit), take the highway A26 towards Genoa Voltri and exit in Ovada; from there, follow the directions under the section “From Ovada”.
Follow the road signs for Ovada or Predosa until you reach the SP 185; past the bridge over the river Bormida, drive straight following the signs for Ovada / Predosa. Continue on this provincial road called SP185 and, past the highway overpass, after about 300 meters turn right towards Predosa / Roccagrimalda. Cross Predosa following the signs for Ovada or Rocca Grimalda (you’re driving on the SP 185) and after 9.5 km you’ll find – in the proximity of Località San Carlo – the junction for Rocca Grimalda. Turn right heading to Rocca Grimalda and start climbing on the road for the town. At the end of the climb, don’t turn left to the center of Rocca Grimalda, but go straight towards San Giacomo; then, drive straight and pass two junctions keeping your right (each junction has marked with a niche). At the third junction, in the proximity of a small church on your left (church of San Rocco), turn left and take the downhill road; continue straight until you find a junction near a small bridge. Turn left and continue straight for about 150 m, then you’ll find another small junction; continue left on the asphalted road, past the holiday farm Val del Prato on your left and climb up the hill until you reach our cellars.
Drive to Ovada and, from there, follow the directions under the section “From Ovada”.
Take the highway exit of Ovada, after about one hundred meters you’ll get to a turnabout; take the second exit on your right, past the bridge over the river Stura and at the second turnabout turn right following the signs for Ovada. After about 1 km, you’ll reach a junction; take the road on your right and continue straight at the other turnabouts. Then, you’ll arrive at a square with two turnabouts; at the first one, turn left; at the second one, continue straight following the signs for Rocca Grimalda. After about 3-4 km, you’ll reach the top of a hump where you’ll find a junction with the sign for Rocca Grimalda, in the proximity of Località San Carlo. Turn right heading to Rocca Grimalda and start climbing on the road for the town. At the end of the climb, don’t turn left to the center of Rocca Grimalda, but go straight towards San Giacomo; then, drive straight and pass two junctions keeping your right (each junction has marked with a niche). At the third junction, in the proximity of a small church on your left (church of San Rocco), turn left and take the downhill road; continue straight until you find a junction near a small bridge. Turn left and continue straight for about 150 m, then you’ll find another small junction; continue left on the asphalted road, past the holiday farm Val del Prato on your left and climb up the hill until you reach our cellars.
